Juice Fasting

It includes consumption of only raw fruit juice, vegetable juice and water (no solid food should be included). Fresh vegetables and fruits are considered as a very good source of vitamins and minerals which helps in the detoxification process

Points to ponder for juice fasting
A week before starting juice diet try and avoid caffeine, sugar, alcohol, poultry, fish, eggs and processed flour products.

  • Some vegetables and fruits which have excellent nutritional profile along with palatability in juice form include tomatoes, carrots, cucumber, cabbage, beet, zucchini squash, lettuce, celery, green vegetables, sprouts, apples, melons, grapes, pineapple and cranberry.
  • Avoid juices of certain vegetables and fruits like potato, yam, citrus fruits, apricots, peaches, cherries, bananas and other with hard skin and seeds.
  • Juices can be sipped through out the day.
  • Drink 50-70 ounces of juice per day and also remember to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water per day along with the juices.
  • Select a combination of fresh vegetables and fruits. Do not allow the juice to stand. Drink immediately as soon as it comes out from the juicer to ensure the intake of all the vitamins and raw food enzymes. Avoid consumption of canned or tinned fruit or vegetable juices.
  • Juice fasting should not be done for long period of time as it may lead to nutritional deficiencies in the body. It should typically last for not more than one to three days.
  • Grapefruit juice and pomegranate juice can be avoided during a juice fast, because they have certain components which tend to interact with certain drug component in the body.
  • Break a juice fast gradually by eating semi-solid foods and then solid foods as per tolerance.

Juice Theraphy

The juice of the carrot is one of the main juices for a healthy skin. It is known to clear up acne and spots on the skin. The other juices that will help are those of apple, watermelon, lemon.

Even spinach and cabbage juices will help with clear skin. Carrot juice by itself when consumed regularly will help. You can also mix this with spinach juice, or with spinach and cabbage juice to get rid of acne. Lemon juice has a large amount of vitamin C in it, and this can also be taken after a meal to aid digestion.

Papaya Juice for Detoxification

What makes papaya a great choice is papain, useful for cleansing and removing toxins

This enzyme is very effective for getting rid of toughened mucous. For this enzyme, green papayas score over ripe papayas. If you’ve never tried detoxification plans before, you might want to skip strenuous plans like the lemon drink detox program.

Juices have always been popular when it comes to the usual detoxification diets. Fruits are a healthy and yummy alternative with such diets. If you like, you can combine your favorite fruits such as strawberries and apples, to make a light, refreshing salad. Detox salads are always popular. Salads don’t just mean vegetables alone. You can be innovative and combine healthy detox dietary plans.

Papaya is typically used as a tropical cleanse. What you need to do is take a little of this unripe fruit and use a blender to mix with water and some other varieties of fruit. This juice should be taken when one wakes up, before taking anything else. One should also sip such a mixed juice over the course of one’s day. Instead of suddenly subjecting your body to a stringent detox diet, you will want to get it slowly accustomed by use of lighter and more nutritious foods and liquids.

This also helps clean one’s colon, which is important before such dietary plans. One of the best ways to start such a pre-detox diet is elimination of fried and junk food altogether, starting about seven days prior to your diet. Before you embark on any crazy detox schedule, it’s a good idea to get your health care practitioner to approve that diet.
